It was great to have an almost “full house” last Friday. I apologise that it was a bit fragmented, what with car problems and a lot of music to distribute. Once we started to sing I was pleased that most things fell into place fairly well. We have one or two challenges, but nothing worried me unduly.
This week Renwick will have a companion! Steve Kirby will be joining us for the Christmas Concert. I have known Steve for a long time and he is known to one or two others of you as well. (We sang a concert in Calverton with the Sherwood Clarinet Ensemble a few years ago – Steve was the conductor.)
This week we are at Woodborough and will concentrate on the following:
| Sheet | O Magnum Mysterium |
| Sheet | O Holy Night |
| Sheet | Silent Night |
| Sheet | The Blessed Bird |
| Sheet | With wondering awe |
| Sheet | Coventry Carol |
| Sheet | Twelve Days of Christmas |
| Faber 111 | Tsaba, Tsaba |
Rhoda has concocted a flier, using the painting that Lydia did last time, for the concert at Newstead Abbey. You can view it here and use it in your social media or print it off. Professionally printed A5 fliers have been ordered and may well be here for Friday. Tickets will be available from next week.
Thank you for filling the availability sheet last week. The Carol Singing at Newstead on either 4th or 5th December had identical responses – we’ll discuss preference on Friday.
Alex Peterson and Eliot Wright have become engaged. Danny Crooks and Leanne got married a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps we need to get I sowed the seeds of love back in the repertoire!
See you on Friday.
